what more can you ask for at this price?

Posted by Aj on Nov 18th 2022

this was my first sword i ever owned and one of the best swords i ever had for the price it was at. iron sukashi fittings, the aesthetic, the blade, the nicely shaped handle all of it was just so good. the 1 and only thing is the habaki did not have a tight fit in the saya but even still if you take proper care of this sword, it will last you years of cutting.

    Yes

The initial packaging made me a bit hesitant, however, I was very pleased as soon as I was able to pair this blade with a proper Kaku Obi. The length of the blade fits my height very well (5’9-10). The blade uses a weird waxy oil, however, this goes away after a few wipes. The overall construction is extremely solid, nothing was loose on the blade itself, however the ito wrapping is slightly loose. I am very serious when I mean slightly. It isn’t that big of a concern, however it is something to note. I am very happy with my purchase! It’s a beautiful work of art as well as a very sharp weapon. There are some points on the tsuba (hand guard) that need to be smoothed out, although I’ve never ran into a problem of being poked while using the katana for iaido. Would buy again!

    Amazing

This sword is so nice and well built for the money. Already tested it out cutting things in half snd it doesn’t show any wear or damage. Craftsmanship is beautiful and it’s very well balanced. A beautiful display piece but also a true weapon at the same time.

    Quality

My Katana arrived in perfect condition and after inspection the only minor flaw I could find was the Tsuba had some sharp edges. I took a hand file and smoothed them out and now it's spot on. Great product at a great price

    Model 8

Strong and sharp. Same geometry as a Dragon King Warfire and Cold Steel Mizutori. I expected the blade to be a bit beefier, but still one of my new faves. For the price, it is worth every penny.

    General overview

Posted by Brenda Soltis on Dec 13th 2020

Model 8 RK dojo pro I have owned both a chenness tenchi and a dynasty forge musha. And a few others as well. Most reviews will tell you that for fit and finish the musha wins easily and cuts slightly better. I have not cut with it yet. But it's sharp. Well balanced. And absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Fast delivery- (2 or 3 days). Upon inspection-and looking for flaws- theres about 1/16th inch of rayskin being short and showing the wood underneath... That is almost impossible to see. If you shake it vigorously there's a slight rattle while in the saya so it's not a perfect fit....but close. That's beyond nitpicking. Otherwise, smooth transitions, the ito is wrapped tightly on the handle. The fittings are tight. Buffalo horn on both ends of the saya as well as the eye- something the musha doesn't include. I would most definitely recommend this sword. you won't find many katana at this price that can compare. 5 stars so far. Awesome katana.
