Well packed,tight fittings, tight ito, habaki doesn’t shift, no scratches on the blade, no dings or scratches on the saya. The habaki style looks nice. The blade is pretty sharp. The balance feels good. BUY IT! LoL

This katana came fully sharpen and oiled. I had to wiped off excess oil. It is a balanced katana. Sword is short enough for indoor practice and would recommend it if you want a katana that is shorter than the normal length

Very stout which makes or a little slower. Ito wrap is superb - as is everything else. Blade didn't come too sharp though. I can't help but think a bohi would help this item out. It's a little front heavy. Very nice piece though.

This sword came in really solid condition. The weight and balance are a dream. The tsuka, ito, and other fittings on the sword itself are tight as could be, which I really appreciate. I only have 3 criticisms which I'm hoping are easily resolved. 1) the blade didn't come SUPER sharp from what I can tell. I wiped the oils off the blade with rice paper. To test the sharpness, I folded the rice paper over the edge and ran it along the blade to see if it would cut through—it didn't. I'm convinced that one could easily "cleave into" a target, but I'd prefer it to be able to cut THROUGH one. As someone who's been training in kenjutsu for over 5 years, I know how important form is to a cut, but sharpness of your blade is almost equally paramount. I'm not really experienced with sharpening, but I really hope to resolve this issue because I see a lot of potential in this sword. 2) although the buffalo horn koiguchi is nice to look at, it doesn't fit over the habaki quite as snugly as I would like (I can always use a cheaper, but tighter-fitting saya, but still) 3) The tsuba of the blade is a bit of a turn-off for me, personally. I like the shape and color, but the edges of the design are pretty jagged, and have already scratched up my right thumb. I tried replacing it with a guard from another sword, but the nakago was too thick :/ You probably won't find a better kodachi for the same price because overall this sword is really well-constructed.

I'm a weaponry enthusiast. I have had my DOJO PRO KO KATANA now for a little over 3 weeks now thanks to a recent sale offered by Ronin Katana. I am extremely pleased to firsthand confirm the other positive reviews online about Ronin Katana and this sword. I'd like to point out that my order was shipped without delay (ordered on Thurs night, shipped immediately on Friday), and via UPS ground to the central coast of California. It was nice to see that after a few days in transit, my Thursday delivery date was switched to Wednesday, and I received my shipment in perfect condition. The ko katana itself is exactly as shown in the various photographs on the www.roninkatana.com website, minus the tsuba which did not have the same exact smooth appearance. The tsuba on mine has at all angles hammered indentations (the very same as shown below on the Blade Forums link), which I love. I can only say that, for myself, the full length photo on the Ronin Katana website of the naked blade beside the saya gave me the impression that the proportions would result in what would be, in the end, nearly a wakizashi. A long handled one. Again, only for myself, this gave me hesitations on this particular sword purchase. I knew I wanted a Ronin Katana sword, from the honest and diligent efforts of the SBG website (http://www.sword-buyers-guide.com/best-japanese-sword.html) and the many testings that can be watched on Youtube.com by Ronin Katana. After receiving mine, I'm 100% satisfied with my decision on this sword. I immediately realized that my hesitation was unfounded, and that the ko katana comes nowhere close while in hand/both hands or on display to a wakizashi. I'd like to suggest that it may benefit other buyers to see a an additional photo of one of the "regular" Dojo Pro katana next to the Ko Katana simply as a visual comparison. This is an excellent katana that should not be dismissed over proportion/size concerns, as this aspect is really what makes this sword so great looking and functionally versatile. I'd also like to suggest to all parties interested in working with Ronin Katana on a purchase to check out the review at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1015552-Ronin-Dojo-Pro-Ko-Katana-Bring-on-the-Zombies!!. While specifically for the Ko Katana, the photos are beautifully clear, and honest credit is given to one of the best aspects of a Ronin Katana: the as solid as can be fittings. To quote several videos, SBG, and other weaponry reviews, a sword, like anything, it is only as good as it's weakest point. Thank you Ronin Katana for making this a focus. And thank you for a fine purchase that deserves more and better reviews than my own.
