Monkey King Jian - Cracked Ice Steel

The Sword of the Monkey King - Seven star steel cracked ice pattern with bronze fittings.

This blade was submitted to the government of China as proof of skill required to obtain the rank of master and is ranked as a masterwork blade. The blade was forged in the cracked ice method and has been inlayed with silver in the seven star steel pattern.

Sun Wukong was made famous by his depiction in Journey to the West. He is a revered character in China and South East Asia where he is regarded as King of the Monkeys and posses magical powers and fighting abilities. This jian depicts the legend of the Monkey King and the Dragon King from whom Sun Wukong obtains his famous staff and magical armor and clothing. The fittings are cast in bronze.
