Not many scratches or dents
I was skeptical of all the people saying they bought scratch and dent swords and couldn't find any serious problems, but that was also my experience. There is nothing about the sword I received that you wouldn't expect from a new, full price sword at this price point. The saya fit could be slightly better, but it does retain the sword when inverted. The samegawa is a little messy around the mekugi, but that could be easily trimmed and cleaned up, and there are some nice large nodes to the skin. The biggest "flaw" I can find is one edge of one samegawa panel is visibile through the wrap. As for the sword itself, aesthetics are subjective, but this sword really gets it right for me. The translucent brown horn, brown wrap, and brass fittings go perfectly together. The blade came sharp and without any ripples that I could see or feel. The yokote is not geometrric, but I had to touch it to tell. The fuchi is exactly the same size as koiguchi, the tsuba is simple without being boring--a level of attention to detail you rarely see in mass production swords is apparent in everything.

Dojo pro # 13
A lot of the guys in my class are cutting with the dojo pro line and after cutting with a few of them I fell in love! Blows my hanwai bamboo out of the water. I ordered the model 13 because of the very rustic tsuba i love the contrast between the tsuba and the refined look of the saya. The blade has a lot of presence without feeling heavy, and edge alignment is intuitive. It just feels right. I ordered a s&d model and found no flaws a good cleaning didn't take care of. I would highly recommend ronin katana I have a Rk model 1 and just ordered a s&d dojo pro #26 and already have my eye on the s&d dojo pro model 1. They're worth every penny of the full price and are an absolute steal at 200 bucks shipping for the s&d models so I'm gonna buy as many as I can

Ronin dojo pro
Ronin has come a long way. Their tsukas shapes are much better now. And still love that they stick with the diamond tip. Got a Sand D sale dojo pro and couldn't find a scratch or a dent. Loose saya, maybe that was it. Wanted a good monotempered beater for practice and at SaD prices, the dojo pro are great.

Scratch and Dent #13
Got this in the scratch and dent sale. I cannot find any significant defects at all. It's beautiful, feels good. Cuts incredibly well, and I am very pleased.

Very happy with this katana
I bought this through the scratch and dent sale and I cannot find any flaws that would decrease the value. I found a few marks on the Tsuba and a small bend where the blade edge meets the Habaki. If that's worthy of a scratch and dent sale I can only imagine how pristine a full price katana is. I will be buying another soon!

Pro dojo model 13
A clean looking, solid and tight katana with a lot of presence that cuts effortlessly. The thick heavier tsuba on this model does and excellent job of counterbalancing the tip forward nature of the dotanuki blade and brings the weight closer to the hands making this sword faster handling and less taxing to use. Purchased my model 13 through the scratch and dent sale, sword arrived with everything tight/straight and a proper edge I couldn't be more pleased, the only damage was a slight crack in the saya lacquer. An excellent choice in this price range.
