Scratch and Dent Dojo Pro Katana Model #7

I just received this sword and was pleasantly surprised to find nothing majorly wrong with it. After spending a few minutes looking the sword over i could only find a few tiny scratches in the middle of the sword, as well as one of the little decorative pieces where the wrap goes through the pommel became detached. Besides those two small imperfections I so far haven't found anything to be worried about.

Absolutely beautiful no nonsense sword. Blemishes we're minor, almost unnoticeable. The only issue is a VERY slight bend near the upper third of the blade, but even then I had to lay it on a flat surface to be sure my eyes weren't playing tricks. For nearly half off the scratch and dent sales are the best deal you can find on any site.

First of all Chris is an amazing guy to do business with. The katana arrived with a cracked blade, so I emailed Chris and he sent me a replacement that is in perfect shape. Hard to find any flaws that would make it a scratch and dent item. Thanks again Chris

Before get into why I am giving this only 2 stars, I would like to mention I own many different functional pieces from various makers so I am quite familiar with the different laminations and processes in making different types of blades. I've also purchased a Dojo Pro in the past loved the robust look of it and this is my first time ordering a Scratch and Dent variety but I was quite disappointed when the blade was not the standard robust Dotanuki style I had hoped for but Instead it was a shinogi zukuri blade. The blade was flawless but perhaps this is why it made it to the scatch and dent list. Nonetheless, I don't think its fair that it was listed as a Dojo Pro. Perhaps its not even a TH1060 blade? I haven't reached out to Ronin yet because I don't want to pay for the return shipping but I just want people out there to hear of my experience.

Excellent cutter! Could not see anything wrong with this katana. Lighter than my other without the hi-bo and feels great in the hands.

First: About the company. I did not see the Katana I wanted and used the “contact us” on the web page. Chris sent a prompt email reply indicating the katana (scratch & dent version) is available and they updated the web site and I should check back. I did and it was available. I placed my order and received a reply from Chris saying the katana will sent out tomorrow. It was and the customer service shown by Chris is a great reflection on the company. Second: The katana was packaged very well to protect it in shipment. Upon examination, I found the blade and suka to be excellent. The only item I found to have a scratch was the habaki. The blade was covered in that protective grease everyone writes about. I used MC25 Premium Weapon Cleaner (www.mil-comm.com). It comes in a spray bottle and is non-toxic. A few sprays and the blade was clean and shiny. I am very happy with the company and my purchase and recommend them and their products.

Very happy with the product, any marks are next to invisible. Solid and well built. Looking forward to ordering more just like it!

Ordered based on the recommendations of someone I chat with. Sword was VERY promptly shipped, and arrived quickly. Upon opening the well packaged box? I was MORE than pleased with my purchase. Took a bit of time to wipe/clean off the protective coating from the blade, and then gave it a pretty thorough inspection. Could detect absolutely zero flaws in the blade. Perhaps the "scratch" or "dent" referred to the very subtle flaw in finish, at the kojiri (the very tip of the saya/scabbard.)? Anyway... Absolutely LOVELY katana, and I am quite happy with my purchase!
