    Arming Sword

Posted by Bill McClary on Nov 14th 2025

I have been looking for an arming sword with this blade shape for a bit. Price was right when I saw this one on sale for $250 — that said, it’s a heavy piece. Balance is off too — you feel every ounce; affects the handling. Needs a heavier pommel, and the pommel itself has sharp edges that cut into your hand. I’m going to spend some time smoothing those out with my Dremmel and then repolish — hopeful that helps. Wearing gloves with it until then. Blade shape is exactly what I was looking for though — it’s a cut and thrust weapon, useful for going up against an armored opponent. Can really appreciate its purpose now that I’m able to experience it up close. Can’t wait to make some cuts with it, and learn better how to manipulate the blade. For all it’s problems I believe it’s still a great value at this price point — especially with it being a sale item…
