    A beautiful blade

I’m still learning more about katanas and their use, but whether it’s for backyard cutting or hanging on the wall for decoration, this katana is well worth the price. Super sharp out the box and beautiful craftsmanship. I’m gonna buy another soon!

    Entry level model 12

Posted by James Haddenham on Oct 8th 2021

I recently ordered the entry level number 12 because I am getting a dojo pro soon and I wanted as close a sword I could find to practice with. I looked at several iaito and other cheaper swords and finally settled on an entry level number 12 because of the great things I've heard about ronin katana. Shipping was extremely fast and before I knew it my sword was delivered which was good cause I was counting down the minutes. The sword arrived in good condition and I was extremely impressed. The hamon was beautiful and the fit was impressive given the price of the sword. Saya fit was really good with little to no rattle. Tsuka, tsuba, habaki all fit very tight. There was no noticeable damage to the blade and overall for the price it was more than I expected. It's not a 500-1000$ sword for sure but what you are getting for the money is outstanding. I don't plan on really cutting or anything involving impact with this sword although I know I could if I resharpened it. In conclusion this sword is an amazing value and I got more than I bargained for, would definitely buy again.

SAMURAI SWORD CLAY TEMPERED KATANA MODEL #12

Posted by Luis c. Velasquez on Mar 31st 2021

This is actually my 5th purchase from Ronin thus year and to tell you the truth they have yet to let me down. All my swords are different in price and styles, I also took advantage of the scratch and dent sale they run apparently every year and am 100 percent satisfied with ALL my purchases. Will be buying again and i recommend them 5*

Very nice katana. Was a little heavier than expected. Sharp and everything was tight and solid. Would buy another katana from Ronin KATANA

Blade was not sharp at all

Posted by Charlie on Oct 19th 2020

I will say now that this is my first sword, so I do not know if my expectations are realistic. Arrived and everything seemed alright about it. Just a couple little random marks on the blade that I’m sure is a result of the price point. Very detailed and good looking sword. I decided to try testing it by slicing a piece of paper and it simply would not cut it. It required significant pressure to finally force the blade through the paper, and I would hardly call it a cut as the paper ripped in multiple directions. I ran my finger over the blade with slight pressure and did not get cut, nor did it feel like more pressure would have cut me. I’ve been able to just slice sheets of paper with other knives, switchblades, etc. with no problem at all. If I’m wrong and the sword isn’t supposed to be able to do that, let me know. Otherwise, sharpness was disappointing.

What you get for the price is amazing. Flat planes on the blade, legit Hamon, and beautiful fittings. Would definitely buy again.
