SCRATCH AND DENT TWO HANDED MEDIEVAL LONG SWORD WITH DOUBLE FULLERS EURO MODEL#1
For the scratch and dent sale, this was an absolute steal. The leather on the scabbard is a little loose at the bottom, but it’s not coming apart. There is some surface rust where the blade meets the cross guard, but that should come off easily enough. The handle and pommel are solid with no rattle, and the blade itself is in good condition other than the rust. Very happy with my purchase.

Great for a scratch and dent
Was very pleased with this sword. For a scratch and dent price of $150 it had some surface rust/discoloration just past the guard on both sides of the blade. This is likely due to moisture in the scabbard against the blade as it was stored in there too long without maintenance. Easy to clean and polish. The blad also wasnt 100% straight. Starting at the guard, it bent slightly one way along the flat of the blade. From guard to tip it was maybe 3/8s of an inch off and barely noticeable holding it out. Fit and finish were tight and everything else looks good. It will still cut and perform well. Worth it for the price.

Euro #1
WOW! Big, beautiful, surprisingly easy to maneuver... Bought the S&D version at a ridiculously low price. It has a patch of visible staining/patina just in front of the cross guard. Everything else is perfect. I mean, perfect. I've developed a small collection of swords now but this is my first European style sword. I 100% recommend buying one. At this S&D price, buy two! You won't regret it. This is an unbelievable bargain for such a nice sword. You can't beat these Scratch and Dent swords from Ronin Katana!

Great buy
I bought from the scratch and dent sale because I didn't have the patience to wait for it to be back in stock..5 minutes with sandpaper and oil and it was perfect..Honestly I've bought new swords from other companies and they had the same amount of surface rust "that's how little rust was on it" ..I'm truly happy with this purchase very fast shipping and great customer service... The sword itself is beautiful.

Very impressed
This was my first purchase from Ronin Katana, and it's better than expected. I at such a discounted price, I was expecting to have pitted rust or large marks or gouges from a botched grinding or sanding job, but in both swords I purchased they only had roughly 1"×1" slightly dark splotches on either sides of the blade right in front of the guard. I polished them out in five minutes with 1500 grit sandpaper and metal polish, and now they have a perfect finish. I did ask politely for a nicer example of a blemished sword, so if you're planning to order one that can't hurt. As for the swords themselves, I bought two. For one of them the balance is a little farther forward than the other, but they're both fairly nimble for their size. Good geometry overall, but the distal taper could be a little more pronounced. That's just my preference though, and your milage may vary. On one sword, the fullers were ever so slightly uneven on one side of the blade, but that wasn't a big issue for me. If I payed full price I might be a little more bothered, but at $150 I'm not complaining. The sword came sharp, but not paper cutting sharp. It was probably just fine for test cutting, but I decided to refine the edge a little. The point is uniform and even on both sides, and that's true for the blade grind overall. The lines are straight, and symmetrical. The grip is comfortable and a good size for my average sized man-hands, but another thing I could nitpick is the pommel. I didn't find it uncomfortable or digging into my hands like I heard a Youtube reviewer say, but the grind is a little rough. Slightly uneven planes, and some marking where it wasn't perfectly polished. Again, another easy fix, and for the price I'm not too bothered. The leather on the grip and scabbard is ok, but I find myself wanting to redo it with a higher quality leather. The shape is nice, just a little cheap feeling. The belt however, is atrocious. Very flimsy feeling, but it looks cool wrapped around the scabbard, and it was included for free so once again, not a big issue for me. And finally, the most important part. The LOOK of this sword is simply awesome. It makes you feel like the main character in a fantasy epic. The blade is very wide and long, and with the dual fullers it's very distinctive and stylized. It just feels powerful. I absolutely love this sword, and I've ordered two more swords from Ronin Katana and will be reviewing them as well. If you're at all handy and have some basic tools, just get the blemished grade if you have the option and polish out any minor imperfections. That is assuming that the average blemished grade is similar to the two I have.
