    DOJO PRO TANTO #1

Posted by Toney on Nov 21st 2019

Excellent workmanship. Very sharp,a little sharper than, what I call, sword sharp. Very happy with my purchase. I have received less quality at 3 times the price. I can see at least one more Ronin in the not too distant future.

A good value but with an issue.

I purchased this tanto sword factory direct with a deep discount. It seems this is a case of you get what you pay for. The blade was outstanding and fittings were also a great quality. The saya however rattles with the sword sheathed. I did not notice at first but when I resheathed the sword I heard plastic wrap crinkling inside. I fished it out with a coat hanger and then sure enough the sword rattles in the saya. I might be able to shim the opening of the saya to stop this but I dont have any wood working tools. Oh well.

    Impressive

Posted by Jim S. on Feb 25th 2019

I didn't know what to expect at this price range and I don't usually go by other reviews but it looked like a pretty good blade so I took a chance on it. After receiving it I looked at this Tanto closely and really couldn't find anything wrong with it. It actually came out of the box very sharp. After taking the handle off, which was pretty difficult, I simply had to do some filing and cleaning up of the tang to get the proper fit. Not as bad as I've had to do on some swords. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of the Ronin Tanto. All of the Dojo Pro fittings are much better quality than the equally priced competitors and this Tanto is no exception. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting one. I hope my next one is just as good as this one is.

Blade didn't arrive very sharp, but that can be fixed. Other than that, I am satisfied with my purchase. Excellent craftsmanship for the price!

    Excelent Tanto for the Price

Posted by David Turner on Jan 3rd 2019

I am really very impressed with this tanto. For the Price is is really nice. Beautiful piece to the collection. It came very sharp and all the fittings are very tight except the ito which could be considerablt tighter. The saya, scabbed, is also quite nice and the tanto fits in very snug, but not so tight that it is hard to draw. Would highly recommend.

    Best Tanto Deal around

Posted by Christopher Henson on Oct 30th 2018

First off I would like to start off by saying I own 2 Ronin Tanto's and 5 dojo Pro Katana's and without question they are by far the best Katana's and Tanto's available anywhere at this price point. You won't find anything close until you hit the $500-$600 mark and even those don't always have a Saya as nice as the Ronin. So now onto the review. Everything was packed nicely and arrived quickly. The customer service is flawless Ronin Katana is truely a first class customer service based company. The blade was flawless and very sharp. The ito wrap is very tight and we'll wrapped with the diamond pattern being nice and even. The tanto fits snuggly in the Says with no rattle, it stays in the Saya even when held upside down. The Ronin Dojo Pro series continues to impress me. I have not received a bad one yet. The quality at this price point for the Tanto's and Katana's are something other vendors can only dream of. I also own a SBG custom T10 katana and a Rjujin DH 1060 katana although both are nice and I love my SBG custom katana but neither can compete when it comes to what you get from Ronin for the price. Choose Ronin Katana you can't go wrong.
