    This blew me away

Posted by David W McAliley on Apr 8th 2022

Got this one on the scratch and dent sale and can't find the scratches or dents. Very impressive sword for the price point. Solid fittings, good quality wood on the tsuka and saya. The blade is SHARP! Well-balanced with a very good feel in the hand. I love the horn fittings. Seems like a small touch, but it really adds a good look to the saya. The fit in the saya is tight, but not too tight for good draws. I haven't done any cutting with it yet, but definitely plan to soon. Awesome sword for a VERY awesome price!

Sword is high quality down to the smallest detail. Stingray leather in grip. Quality steel. Pretty sharp and perfect fit into sheath made of real wood.

Very pleased with my first katana purchase... this is a robust blade, fittings are very good and fit/finish are outstanding. Looking forward to my next Ronin purchase.

    DOJO PRO KATANA MODEL #17

Posted by J Walker on Jan 12th 2021

This is a lot more katana than the competition offers in this price range. Horn looks really good on the polished saya. Great balance and it cuts very clean. This is a functional katana there can be no doubt. #17 has an understated, all business look and feel. The Tsuba looks very appropriate and fits well with the theme of this katana. There is a descent amount of saya knock @ the kissaki which is somewhat disappointing, but the only real complaint I have. Overall I am impressed with the value here. You get a lot for the $ with the Dojo Pro.

    Model 17

First off, I am an artist and I am very critical of katanas. The reason for this is because I look at a katana as art itself. That being said this sword is amazing. The blade is a beast and came super sharp. The wrap on the tsuka is tight and the diamonds look good. The tsuba design is really nice and looks better in person than in photos. The saya is great with the brown accents at both ends. The sageo this sword comes with is thick and quality, very nice. Also the fittings are wonderful. Now two issues I do have, and yes they are small, are these. The two handle fittings at the bottom of the tsuka were lose. I glued these back. The second, and this is probably really, really nit-picky, but there is a small gap between the tsuba and the handle (tsuka). You can only see this gap if you bring the sword up to direct light. The only thing that concerns me minorly about this, is the tsuba might come lose after some cutting because this sword is going to be a cutter for me! It probably won't and I'm just being paranoid but just something of note. Overall this is a 5 star sword. I haven't cut with it yet because right now there's a few inches of snow outside but I'm sure this beast will not disappoint!

Sword arrived within delivery window well packaged and sharp. Only downside is one of the silk cords started unraveling and it has only been a week.

I am very pleased with this sword. It is still new, so it sticks a bit. I use iaijitsu, so I had to oil it a bit. No other complaints. I love the feel of the tsuka, no rattles anywhere. It cuts two mats clean and most way through the third , better than my Damascus katana in a four stack upward cut from saya. I will definitely recommend

I own 3 original swords .This one is the equal of any of them in function. As far as appearance and quality of fittings I dont see how they could be improved in this price class. As far as durability we shall see,but so far no problems.
