Dojo Pro Saya - Black with Brown Horn

This saya is as expected, there is plenty of room to fit the blade over all. It is well put together and looks great. Some work is needed in order to fit my dojo pro model 21, The koigichi fit a bit more than half the length of the habaki which allowed me to file it to fit. There is quite a bit of saya rattle from edge to spine and some from flat to flat. ( In order to remedy this, I cut sections of pool noodle and pushed them down to the bottom of the saya to shim the gap between it and the kisaki) now it’s is just a matter of the wax in the saya which occasionally clings to the blade. (This should fix its self over time and use) performing batto and noto. (With regular wiping of the blade and re-applying oil, this helps prevent most of the was stubbornly sticking to the blade). I got a ronin pro 18 from KOA as a blem and the saya came with some bruises in the lacquer, which wasnt a big deal. But the inside of the scabbard leaves a white powder on my blade and there was enough blade rattle that the shipping process rolled the edge over. The powder is the most annoying part so i ordered a replacement saya from RK and the new one still has the powder residue issue, which is quite infuriating. But also, the replacement does not match the sori of my blade and the edge drags, however there is much less blade rattle. To be fair it is a strikingly attractive saya with genuine buffalo horn. Cant be beat for the price, as long as your blade's curve or sori matches up.

These saya are perfect for building your own katana. The saya came scratch and ding free thanks Ronin Katana.

I haven't fitted the saya yet but it's flawless and the horn is a nice color. No dings or scratches.

This recent saya I purchased is actually even better made than the last ones I bought with my katanas.

Well made and easy to fit to a blade collar.

Saya was beautiful with brown buffalo horn. Only negative is that is came with packing grease
