    #4 brown

I’m a total newbie so take my review with a grain of salt. The tanto did arrive slightly dirty and still had a sheen of industrial grease, the scabbard had a couple tiny scratches. Other than these small flaws the tool as a whole is obviously well built. The blade is decently sharp, handling the tanto feels nice. Very fun to wield and you can tell this thing can be serious if you are too.

    Dojo pro tanto #4

This is my second tanto from Ronin. I’m a fan, they are great functional knives!!

    Tanto

There is no confusing what this tanto is for. It’s not the fanciest tanto I’ve ever seen, but it’s all business and designed well for that.

    Solid budget option

This is a beautiful but imperfect tanto that's really nice for the price (I paid $69 for it). The blade is attractive and came reasonably sharp, although the grind and fullers aren't quite even on both sides. The handle is comfortable and nice looking in spite of the somewhat loose Ito wrap. My example fits quite tightly in the scabbard, to the point where I'm considering filing down a little bit of the wood around the throat of the scabbard to make it easier to draw. The hilt assembly and fittings (aside from the wrap) are tight, and there's no rattle out of the box, but there are some minor gaps between the guard and the rest of the handle. Overall, this is a great value for the money, but if you're looking for exquisite perfection you'd best look elsewhere (at a much higher price point).

    Fantastic budget tanto

This tanto was purchased by myself to wear in my obi at the dojo and to use during tameshigiri practice. Very high quality for the price. In fact, I cannot think of a better tanto available in this price range. (Sub 100usd) The blade was keen and the koshirae is nice. I quite like the unique fuchi and kashira. The profile of the blade looks slim, but it is actually because the tsuka is fairly large. The saya had a little rattle, and the ito was not quite to my liking. In this price range, minor cosmetic details are the least of your worries. Immediately upon receiving it, I rewrapped the tsuka with japanese cotton ito and some nice gourd menuki to give it a higher end appearance. The saya rattle was fixed with a small wooden shim. With that, the issues with this weapon were fixed. As for durability and quality of the blade itself, I have no doubt that it will be an excellent tool in the dojo. A few students at the dojo that I attend use ronin katana for tameshigiri. I have owned a ronin katana for nearly ten years and it has held up to abuse that a japanese sword should not be able to withstand. This tanto would be no different. Pros: best price you will get for a quality dagger in the current market Nice quality fittings for price Great blade that will withstand years of use Fast shipping located in the united states. Cons: Minor cosmetic issues such as non alternating ito and saya rattle Thats about it.
