Dojo Pro Tanto #4
This is my second order from Ronin Katana and while my first order received 5 stars, I had to knock a point off this one due to a slight bend in the tip. Luckily I was able to correct it, for the most part, with a sharpening stone. Everything else was flawless and as with my previous order it arrived super fast. All in all though, it was a little disappointing and if I hadn't gotten it at such a steal of a price I would have probably been a little more upset. Would still love to check out one of their Ko Katanas and would recommend them in the future, but am a slight bit more leery for the moment.

Beautiful and as advertised

Disappointed
I have owned (9) of these various model tantos, and purchased more than a dozen with a business account giving them as military awards and retirement gifts. This particular tanto was disappointing. While the saya and fittings were beautiful, the blade's long fuller was uneven in length by 1/4 inch, and the smaller fuller was distorted (shaped like an aircraft wing profile) on one side. Pretty much every RK tanto over the years has been great. Some have differed in blade length within the same models, but non have had these issues until now.

Tanto/O Tanto
Got the tanto to match the Ko Katana as a set for cutting exercises. As expected, performed well as with the katana. Strong and sturdy another workhorse good targeting. Cutting with Musashi style. Nito fencing. Good for the price for what it is designed for not being a wall flower it is a cutter and like all swords proper care in cleaning under use is important after use for proper function

I’m a total newbie so take my review with a grain of salt. The tanto did arrive slightly dirty and still had a sheen of industrial grease, the scabbard had a couple tiny scratches. Other than these small flaws the tool as a whole is obviously well built. The blade is decently sharp, handling the tanto feels nice. Very fun to wield and you can tell this thing can be serious if you are too.

This is my second tanto from Ronin. I’m a fan, they are great functional knives!!

Tanto
There is no confusing what this tanto is for. It’s not the fanciest tanto I’ve ever seen, but it’s all business and designed well for that.

Solid budget option
This is a beautiful but imperfect tanto that's really nice for the price (I paid $69 for it). The blade is attractive and came reasonably sharp, although the grind and fullers aren't quite even on both sides. The handle is comfortable and nice looking in spite of the somewhat loose Ito wrap. My example fits quite tightly in the scabbard, to the point where I'm considering filing down a little bit of the wood around the throat of the scabbard to make it easier to draw. The hilt assembly and fittings (aside from the wrap) are tight, and there's no rattle out of the box, but there are some minor gaps between the guard and the rest of the handle. Overall, this is a great value for the money, but if you're looking for exquisite perfection you'd best look elsewhere (at a much higher price point).
