    Good value, but a pain

Posted by Will Shepherd on Apr 5th 2024

So, I ordered this scratch and dent. The good: I paid 200 for a listed 450 sword. It is a beautiful sword and is not dented that I can tell and there are no scratches. The bad: apparently they used too much glue on the scabbard and the sword came covered in mess. I applied 91% rubbing alcohol and some polishing paste to it and have gotten it 95% better. The part of the blade nearest the hilt had two lines on both sides that I thought were rust, however it appears to have been some type of black residue that I have not gotten completely off yet. Going to get some quad 0 steel wool to take care of it. Overall I am pleased with the purchase and in my case it was word the risk. Just be aware you may have to give these seals some TLC!

    Good buy

This is the first scratch and dent sword from Ronin Katana that is actually a scratch and dent sword. The other ones I’ve bought in the past were a little difficult to find flaws. It has some surface rust and a little bit of a rolled tip but both weren’t too hard to correct/fix with a little tlc, polished out. Even those minor imperfections don’t diminish the blade or sword at all! This is an excellent buy and am definitely glad I jumped on it! A worthy score and I’m stoked to have it!

Review of Ronin LE interpretation of Alexandria sword

Posted by kqn on Sep 2nd 2020

I bought a S&D and found the overall appearance and quality to be excellent. I am happy with this acquisition. The Ronin interpretation is known to have a forward point of balance, about 8" from the guard, as the pommel is too small and light. I epoxied some weights to the pommel to bring back the POB to just slightly less than 5".
