SCRATCH AND DENT TWO HANDED MEDIEVAL LONGSWORD MODEL #2

Posted by Brett Lashuay on May 13th 2019

Like every time I buy one of these scratch and dent models, it took a few minutes to find the QA issue that cause it to go on sale. The sword is light, sturdy, exactly what I needed.

SCRATCH AND DENT TWO HANDED MEDIEVAL LONGSWORD MODEL #2

Thoroughly pleased with my purchase, especially for this price range.

This longsword is a little point heavy, though not outrageously so. It still handles well; it just takes some getting used to. It performs reasonably well in the limited cutting I've had a chance to put it through.

The scabbard is basic, but well executed. It serves its purpose well.

The fit and finish of the sword is impressive, especially considering this was purchased under a scratch-and dent sale. I find no overt flaw: so far there is an almost unnoticeable wave to the profile and a mild distortion of the pommel at the peen.

The only complaint I would have is that the machining on the guard and pommel is a little too crisp, resulting in "sharp" edges that can scrape uncomfortably at a shifting barehanded grip. A few minutes of careful filing softened that up sufficiently.

I would definitely purchase from Ronin Katana again.
