    1060 Tanto 2

Posted by Rodney Eldridge on Sep 8th 2019

This was my first Ronin purchase. I wanted to start small to see what the quality was like before picking up a katana. First impressions are quite good. Everything was tight and sturdy. The blade is very well made. It came sharp, but more kitchen knife sharp than razor sharp. I shared it to a better edge. My intent was to take it apart to polish the blade. When I removed the tsuka, the fuchi fell off. It was a loose fit. Once that was removed, I found that the seppa, tsuba, and habaki appear to be epoxied in place. I could not remove them even by tapping with a wooden mallet. This is disappointing because I cannot properly polish the blade with those permanently attached. I know I could force them off but I assume ththeththey were epoxied due to improper fit so if removed they would be loose when reattached. Other than that, it arrived in three days, is beautifully made, and is in perfect working order. The fit into the saya is quite good as well. Sing enough the tanto doesn't come out until you want it to. I'm sure more Ronin items will be added to my small collection soon.

    Dojo Pro Steel Tanto #2

Really happy with this tanto. I'm not a martial arts expert -- Just a guy who appreciates the beauty of Japanese weaponry. The knife is very solidly built and is obviously a real knife and not some flea market decorative piece. I am very happy with the design and style as well. It also got to my door within a couple days. Very fast shipping. I would definitely buy again from Ronin Katana.

    First Purchase

Posted by John on Apr 1st 2019

This is my first purchase from Ronin Katana. I'm a practicing martial artist, but no expert when it comes to judging the quality of a blade. That said, I'm very happy with the workmanship of this tanto. In addition, I was hoping this might give me a sense of what to expect from Ronin's swords. I'm very impressed with what I see.

I purchased two of these #2 tantos as they were on sale ,and I'm pretty impressed. On the negative side there are a few small rub marks on the sheath and I wouldn't have minded a little finer polish on the blade. On the positive end. It looks great ,I love the balance ,it's well put together and it's pretty sharp. Paper cutting sharp anyway. It's a great gift for someone you like. I should have bought more.

    Tanto Number 2

Posted by Steve "Bookie" Bookout on Dec 11th 2017

The tanto #2 is well made and with the POB at 1/2 inch ahead of the tsuba, it feels very nimble in your hand. In fact, it just comes to life in a heart beat. Its tsuba & seppa are well seated and no wobble is found at all. The furniture and ito are very tightly mounted to the tsuka. The tsunami decorations are simple, clean, and well executed. The blade has no manufacturing marks or grind wheel scars to observe and has no tendency to fall out of the saya when held upside down. This would make an outstanding close combat blade as well as being a show piece in your collection. Good value for the money tendered.
