Scratch and Dent Ronin Katana Two Handed Long Sword #10

This is a scratch and dent sale sword review. The edge was a little dinged up but that was fixed with basic sharpening, I haven't noticed anything else wrong yet. Overall the sword is very solid, the blade is flat ground to a sharp edge, it's fun to put some force through the pummel and make snappy cuts. The sword is heavier than my ronin katana but not unwieldy, it cuts well and holds an edge against hardwood sticks. The scabbard is very basic and the tip of the blade kind of scrapes it but it just takes some care to sheathe the blade, I like that it comes with a belt because I can just pick up the sword and cut a few things real quick without have to keep the scabbard safe somewhere outside. As someone who has made knives for a long time I am impressed.

Not sure why it was in the scratch or dent category, since I couldn't find a blemish on it. Such a unique shape and design. This is the perfect sword to wear on my late 15th century Muscovite kit! Sword has a very solid build, crossguard is rock solid, grip is sturdy and centered, and the pommel is gorgeous and beautifully peened! Very lite weight weapon with great balance, with an excellent distal taper. My only complaint is the lame floppy scabbard, so it looks like I'll have to make a rigid one myself. Overall, this is a steal of a deal!

I wasn't able to find the flaw that caused this to be a scratch and dent sword. It cuts great and would be a great deal even at full price.
